Leica IIIc black paint 'Leitz Eigentum' *

Very rare, original Leica IIIc 'Leitz Eigentum' (property of Leitz) in black paint finish. This special batch of Leica cameras (517401–517525) is noted in the Leica Control Book with the annotation: “Kameras mit Leitz-Eigentum graviert u. schwarz lackiert” (cameras with Leitz Eigentum engraving and black painted). As with most of these cameras, the offered example had its original engraving defaced at the factory and was later upgraded to IIIf specifications.

It is in excellent condition and comes with a special Elmar 3.5/5cm no.747169, without the usual engraved front ring. The delivery record for this lens is blank, suggesting that it was also intended for factory-internal use.
