Leica IIIc 'Mark W. Clark'

a historically interesting military Leica camera, used and owned by U.S Army General Mark W. Clark; Clark was the youngest four-star general in the United States Army during World War II, after the war he became the Commander in Chief of US Forces of Occupation in Austria, where he most probably received this camera. During the Korean War, he took over as commander of the United Nations Command on May 12, 1952, Clark commanded the UN forces in Korea until the armistice was signed on July 27, 1953 and retired from the Army on October 31 of the same year. The camera is engraved on the back with 'Ann Clark c/o Gen. M.W. Clark U.S.A.' (Ann Clark was the daughter of the M.W. Clark), it has been delivered to U.S. Army on 20.10.1945 (contract number 13243).
