An exceptionally rare prototype of the red anodized Leica APO-Summicron-M 2/50mm ASPH. The striking special edition was introduced in 2016 and subsequently produced in a limited series of only 100 examples worldwide.
The lens offered here, no.4666802, is one of the prototypes produced during development of the edition. It carries the additional engraving “P03/03”, identifying it as prototype no.3 of a series of three.
The lens is preserved in mint condition, with virtually no signs of use. A particularly rare development example of one of the most distinctive modern versions of Leica’s APO-Summicron-M 50mm.
