Eltina Japanese Prototype Leica Copy *

One of the rarest Leica copies in existence, the Eltina is a Japanese 35mm camera, designed and made by Shinjiro Ehira (founder of the Ehira Optical Works). This special camera incorporates a unique periscope focusing system, viewfinder with parallax correction and interchangeable lenses. It is for sure one of the most interesting and technically advanced Leica copies in existence. The offered model is in beautiful, near-mint condition and working order; comes with an unmarked lens and leather case. Another prototype Eltina (slightly different, already engraved with the camera name) is illustrated in 'The Collector's Guide to Japanese Cameras' on page 160.
