Carl Zeiss Hologon 8/110mm

The only genuine Hologon for large format cameras, made as a unique prototype in 1968 by Carl Zeiss for Linhof. In Compur shutter with both caps. The lens is the large version of the legendary Hologon lens by Dr. Erhard Glatzl the late head of the Carl Zeiss Photo Optik department in Oberkochen. It is famous for its sharpness and lack of distortion. The optical design with two divergent meniscus lenses on front and back, and a single converging element cannot use a diaphragm which is the reason the latter element is wasp-waisted which limits the aperture ratio to 1:8. An unbelievable, incomparable and impressive lens. This prototype and unique lens is in perfect, mint condition.
